H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand, is scheduled to visit Vientiane, Lao PDR, during 19-20 February 2020, to attend the 5th Mekong-Lancang Cooperation (MLC) Foreign Ministers’ Meeting and the Special ASEAN-China Foreign Ministers’ Meeting on the Coronavirus Disease 2019.

The 5th MLC Foreign Ministers’ Meeting will be attended by Foreign Ministers of all six member countries; namely Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Vietnam, Thailand and China. The meeting will review the progress in the past year’s implementation of the Five-Year Plan of Action on MLC Cooperation (2018-2022), discuss future direction of MLC Cooperation, and make a preparation for the upcoming 3rd MLC Leaders’ Meeting to be held in Vientiane, on 25 - 26 March 2020. The meeting will adopt an outcome document- the Joint Press Communiqué of the 5th MLC Foreign Ministers’ Meeting- reflecting significant results agreed upon at the meeting.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs will also attend the Special ASEAN-China Foreign Ministers’ Meeting on the Coronavirus Disease 2019. The meeting will be a platform to exchange information on current situation and share experiences and actions taken in the COVID-19 response as well as explore the ASEAN-China cooperation to respond and contain the epidemic.
